The number of applications for TM’s registration is increasing every year by 20% in Russia

Russian entrepreneurs in the 2016-17 year have increased the number of submitted to Rospatent applications by 20% annually. This was reportered by the Head of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property of Russia Grigory Ivliev.

"The trends that exist in the intellectual property market over the last two years are positive in general. Our entrepreneurs in 2016 and in 2017 have submitted by 20% more applications for trademarks then in previous year", Ivliev said.

Rospatent have been working actively with the BRICS countries and to studied proposals from the The Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC). "One of our most important proposals, which we are now considering is, of course, the proposal of the EurAsEC about unified trademark. It is almost created and now requires ratification from the individual States. We hope that in 2018 we will have a unified trademark in the Eurasian area", he said.

Another work conducted in the framework of the EurAsEC is the creation of unified industrial design.
