Mariya Ortynska, founder of the IPSTYLE patent law company, has joined the ECTA International Trade Committee. As a Committee Member, she will focus on intellectual property matters with regard to the trade relations between the European Union and other countries.
Committee members are appointed for a two-year term. Membership also involves working on projects and insights sharing to help the Committee develop appropriate position papers and policy.

ECTA was founded in 1980. Since then, it has become a go-to expert body for EU and national decision-makers, and the European Courts of Justice and international intellectual property organisations. The Association has raised a members’ voice on questions such as the protection and use of trademarks, designs and domain names, and related rights, such as copyright, geographical indications or unfair competition. It currently unites more than 1,500 members from EU countries, along with associate members from all continents.
Mariya Ortynska has a wide experience working with international organisations and communities such as the International Trademark Association (INTA), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), etc. Since 2022, she has been engaged with the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) as a member of the Copyright Committee.
Mariya continues to expand her professional presence internationally. She is a licensed attorney in the State of New York and the founder of Ortynska Law in the U.S. Her practice focuses on trademark registration and protection in the U.S., drafting business contracts, advising companies on entering the U.S. market, and copyright matters in the United States.
