IPSTYLE team defended the interests of a famous watch manufacturer and prevented unfair trademark registration

The IPStyle team prevented the registration of a trademark (TM) that violated the TM rights of the client, a world-renowned watch manufacturer.

In an attempt to exploit our client's reputation and fame among consumers, the infringer applied for registration of the TM, the dominant part of which is identical to the name of the client's watch line. The applicant was thoughtful enough to design the TM to distract the main attention of the expert from the dominant part: he included additional verbal elements and a distinctive logo in the TM. Formally, the TM of the unfair applicant had to have a number of differences compared to the client's trademark.

IPStyle lawyers took into account all risks, gathered necessary legal arguments and managed to prove to the expert the similarity and possibility of deceptive associations among consumers. As a result, IPStyle obtained a full refusal of unfair trademark registration.
