The government of Ukraine has created the Intellectual Property Council

On February 7, the Ukrainian Government decided to establish the Council on intellectual property matters. The Council will coordinate the processes of functioning and development of the system of legal protection of intellectual property rights in Ukraine.

The Council will act as a temporary Advisory body to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The Council will be headed by Stepan Kubiv, First Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.

As Stepan Kubiv commented this decision, it consistents with Ukraine's obligations under international agreements that are part of the global system of Intellectual Property rights.

The Council will consists of 30 people, including the heads of bodies of Central Executive authorities, security forces, representatives of the legislative and judicial authorities, heads of enterprises and public organizations.
