The creation of specialized court on Intellectual property in Ukraine has launched

29 September 2017 the President of Ukraine signed a decree establishing the High Court on Intellectual Property with location in Kyiv.

The court will consist of 21 judges. To apply for these posts can judges with experience of at least 3 years, professional attorneys with experience in intellectual property for at least 5 years and patent attorneys with experience not less than 5 years.

On 3 October the Parliament of Ukraine adopted a new version of the Code of Economic Procedure, which, among other things, spelled out the procedure for dispute resolution in the new IP court.

The creation of the specialized court on Intellectual property in Ukraine was provided for judicial reform, adopted in the summer of 2016. However, no practical steps for the creation of such a court until now haven’t been taken.
