The design of the Mother Teresa's sari has become TM

The white, blue-rimmed cotton sari which always wore Saint Teresa of Kolkata has been trademarked.

A lawyer Biswajit Sarkar said he had applied for the trademark in 2013. His purpose was to protect the name of the Holy from improper or commercial use. The trademark was registered in last year, but officially heralded only now.

It means that now lawyer has the opportunity to prosecute all, including the employees of charity organizations using it. "There are many organisations starting schools naming themselves after Mother Teresa, and wearing the uniform, where the Missionaries of Charity have no connection”, Mr Sarkar explains.
